The scented candles our beauty team are shopping right now
Including some major high-street bargains that you just can't say no to
Is there such thing as a best scented candle? We hate to break it to you, but we don't think so. Not because there aren't many stellar options available, but because finding a scented candle is a completely subjective experience.
In fact, it's just like choosing your signature perfume. There are sooo many to choose from, but not all will be loved by everyone. And, unless smell-o-vision actually becomes a thing, shopping online can make it pretty tricky too.
So, here's a tip when buying a scented candle: it's a smart idea to follow the same scent profile as your fragrance to help you find an aroma that you'll enjoy. If you prefer delicate scents, find a candle that throws floral or citrus notes to fill a room with an easy-going scent. Or, if you're into musky scents, an amber or vanilla fragrance will create a warm, comforting atmosphere.
Once you find 'the one', the blend of notes can also invite you to reminisce on a happy memory or remind you of a certain someone – whether that’s your childhood home or the familiar fragrance that your grandma used to wear.
And besides offering a stunning scent, a scented candle also has an obvious shelf appeal that will make any space look a little more sophisticated. You can use one as a decorative piece on your bookshelf, in the centre of your table, or reuse the tumbler as a stylish storage pot.
So, whether you're buying for your own home or looking for a gift for a friend, there are a whole host of floral fragrances and spicy scents that will tick your boxes. Scroll down to discover the Cosmo team’s eternal flames (so sorry).
